Art practice

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what it means to make Art. For some I think it’s a way to get attention, make your mark on the world with the hope that what you are making will remain as a testament of your thoughts and time alive. For others I think it’s an innate urge, something that they took up long ago for various reasons and really just can’t stop.
I believe that I fall into this second category and can’t think about art not being in my life. I started art classes at a young age and have worked in varying capacities and industries since. I continue to explore and experiment with a variety of media. I keep myself busy as an artist and as a curator for 63 Bluxome Street Gallery. Whether I am doing art for a particular show or just for the love of making marks on materials, Art is a practice that I hold dear to my heart. Its a time to escape into yourself and whatever project you happen to be working on. I think it’s important for everyone to have something like this in their lives. it’s a sense of fulfillment that I hope will never go away.
